In the cosmic scheme of things, though the embarrassment will linger, the damage will not be lasting. And, if they choose, the Vikings can use the charges to make a fundamental change in the team.
The Vikings can cut Culpepper.
It would be a huge move, even bigger than the decision to let Randy Moss go ply his skills and play his games in Oakland. Over his first five seasons in the NFL, Culpepper had been one of the most prolific passers in
NFL history, and his 110.9 rating last year was the fourth-highest ever.
