All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Damn it! Those 1972 Dolphins get to pop the Champagne...

WooooooooHooooooooo!!!! Damn right!!!! We are still the only perfect team baby!!! And we beat the Jets and have a four game winning streak!!!! What a day!!
Re: Damn it! Those 1972 Dolphins get to pop the Champagne...
And I feel damn lucky to be a fin fan. That record could belong to any team in the league or no one at all. But it sure makes life as a Dolphin fan sweet. But on the down side every couple of years we have to suffer through a close call like this one. It has it's disadvantages.
Re: Damn it! Those 1972 Dolphins get to pop the Champagne...
The whole thing has gotten a bit twisted by the media. It was only a small group of players that celebrated their accomplishment as opposed to celebrating another team's loss. ESPN and others have made a point to play that sound effect all of the time, but it's not like the whole team flys to Miami to open up the crate of booze. If any team was going to do it, I was happy for it to have been the Colts. It is neat to have that in the team history, but the only thing that matters is the future and what you're doing right now to improve that future.

It will be broken eventually, all records are. Just like Marino's TD record.
The only thing that irritates me about that record is when fin fans who werent even alive when it was created use it in smack talk.
"OH YEAH WELL 33 YEARS AGO WHO HAD A PERFECT SEASON?"
"how old are you?"
"18 BUT STILL."
"go practice falling down ill be back later"
Every fan of a team that had success many years ago. Yankee fans brag about 26 championships. Leaf fans brag about 12 Cups. Most happened before most people were born now. I was born about 4 weeks after they did it but I'm still proud of the accomplishment the '72 team achieved.

You're right, but all teams fans that live off their teams past even if they weren't alive when their team won. But there is something to be said for paying your due's. Look, the Pats on on the verge of doing something thats never been done before and that, if they do it, could be harder to break then going undefeated. Winning the SB's in a row. In this day and age in the NFL that would be huge.
