ESPN Power Rankings

The Sabres made the big time -- a Tim Russert shout-out on Meet The Press! Well deserved given that Buffalo has won seven straight. Even better? Ryan Miller was strong in his first game back since Oct. 28, a 2-1 shootout win over Philly. Hopefully, Team USA won't regret its decision.

Break up the Sabres! Or maybe it should be wake up the Sabres. Buffalo is having a dream season so far after 34 games, surprising everyone around the NHL with a 23-10-1 record. The Sabres won all four of their games last week, including one via a shootout and one in overtime. Buffalo heads into Week 12 having won seven straight overall and nine on the road.

Keep it tight and then close 'em out. The Sabres rarely make it easy, but their NHL record of six consecutive one-goal wins shows they know how to get it done.

TSN Power Rankings
9 http://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NHL/TeamLogo/Small/2.gif Buffalo Sabres 22-10-1
The Western New York faithful are going to point to a team with the third-most points in the league. Ever the critic that I am, I'll note that the last eight wins have all been by one goal (excluding the empy-netter in Colorado). These are things that weigh much better in the standings than as a reflection of power.
Key Injuries: RW J.P. Dumont (abdominal), LW Taylor Pyatt (wrist), D Dmitri Kalinin (finger).

CNNSI Power Rankings
6http://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NHL/TeamLogo/Small/2.gif Buffalo Sabres (22-10-1)
There's no way around it: Martin Biron and the Sabres are en fuego. Biron won his 13th straight start last Saturday night, giving him the longest such sreak since Chris Osgood won 13 consecutive during the 1995-96 season. As for the Sabres, they have won 10 of 11 and are 14-1-1 since Nov. 12. And at the start of the season Sabres fans were worried about the lack of superstars.

Meh to ESPN. :rage:

I don't even understand why they continue to cover hockey after they let the league's TV rights go. To Hell with them. :rage:
