JP should be healthy next weekend.
NOW is the time for MM to withhold who he plans on starting at QB next weekend. Wait until Friday to make the decision. Give both QB's get an equal amount of snaps during the week and make them both work for the starting job this week. if JP really wants this position he will work his ass off to take it from Holcomb.
Then carry this mentality into camp '06. JP needs this type of competition to excel. A true competitor will up his game and prove himself to his coaches and the players around him. A true backup will only deflate and slide into a backup role.
DO NOT, however, go into the first game next season without naming a starting QB. This will only create unwanted problems on the field and in the locker room.
