From Kffl:

Bills | Teammates supportive of Holcomb starting in '06

John Wawrow, of the Associated Press, reports Buffalo Bills (http://www.kffl.com/team/9/nfl) QB Kelly Holcomb (http://www.kffl.com/player/462/nfl) has received support from some of his teammates on competing for the starting job with QB J.P. Losman (http://www.kffl.com/player/9412/nfl) (thigh) next year. "I think he's played enough to get a chance," WR Eric Moulds (http://www.kffl.com/player/224/nfl) said. "Hopefully, they'll give him an opportunity after this year to compete for the starting job." Even some of his defensive teammates have noticed Holcomb's performance this season. "I mean, look at the statistics," linebacker London Fletcher (http://www.kffl.com/player/183/nfl) said. "He's proven that he can be a starting quarterback in the National Football League week in and week out and definitely a starter for us." Holcomb is expected to start in Week 17 since Losman is nursing a thigh injury.

This is a bit out of context, at the pressy Moulds said mostly that he would support whatever the HC and staff wanted. He definetly said what they are quoting, but it was after being pressed a bit more after he simply said he didnt know what will happen and its up to the coaches.

Anyways, forget JP or any other QB for a minute. I am just sick and tired of mediocrity. Everyone here has complained about the same damn thing, being mediocre. Well, here we are again with the players and possibly the staff wanting to go with a mediocre QB. UGGGHHHH, if JP cant do it, then FUG him. But Im sick of waiting while we suffer through mediocrity. The last thing I want is us to try to believe that a mediocre QB is all we need. Stampy is even on this board posting we should get Aaron Brooks, its all the same fodder. Why in the fug do we constantly just slap on retreads?

There is all of about 1 team this year thats playoff bound with a mediocre QB. Probably Washington, maybe Seattle. Yet for us, with ALL the problems on and off the field, we can do it? Get real people.

Ive said a dozen times, I dont care if its JP or not, I just dont want mediocrity anymore. If it aint Holcomb, and it aint JP, get the fuggin guy in here NOW to do it. But it better be someone who is proven, and that just aint available.

I'd love Holcomb to be the Bills QB...

...if they played Cincinatti 16 games a year.

I definitely agree with the basic sentiment of this post. I would like to see JP succeed, since he's the young, expensive, first rounder the Bills have chosen. But if not, let's not fool ourselves into thinking that Holcomb is much more than a very servicable back-up. I love having KH as a 2nd stringer. He's perfect for that job, but I want to see a real QB with a real OL on this Bills team and I want it yesterday. I'm tired of this team sucking and the way this organization has been run. This cycle has to come to an end.

This is not a surprising sentiment coming from Moulds or some of the older vets. They realize that they don't have many years left and want to win now rather than worry about the development of a new QB. In fact, I'd be worried if we didn't hear this sort of thing...it would mean that the fire and competitive spirits of the older vets is either waning or gone!

You're getting an arm bar for that one.
