Well yeah. They took a year and developed the Kid, now look at him. Again did you hear ANYTHING from the Bengals veterans esp Chad Johnson when Lewis benched comeback player of the year John Kitna and took all last season to develop Palmer?

Hell no! If we had a strong HC we wouldn't have heard spit from our guys.

Being the #1 pick or the #22 means nothing. It means nothing at all. The ONLY Difference is the fact Palmer has a hell of a HC and a GM putting the players he needs around him.

Get used to "Palmer to Johnson, TD!" for a long time.

The Bengals coaches said they decided to start Palmer because it was apparent to them from watching practice that he was their best QB.

That said, there was some talk that the Bengals should pull Palmer for Kitna early in the season last year when the Bengals started slow, but that talk quieted once Palmer started looking like the next great QB.

Carson Palmer led his team to a National Championship his final year in college. Losman's team finished 5-7 his senior year. Palmer was about as close to a sure thing as you can get, and made the most of his opportunity when handed the reigns of an NFL team. The same cannot be said of Losman.

no he didn't. Palmer won the Orange Bowl his final year Ohio State won it all that year, Leinhart has led USC to both titles.

And I am to take the opinion of a self proclaimed Holcombmaniac? Uh....no.

He has holcomb on the brain. You should know from the RJ/Flutie saga that the holcombites, like flutieflakes, need to make crap up.

Are you really a Bills fan?
Aren't you enamored with the idea to start JP only because Bills spent too much to get him?
Please, get up. Do you remember that Bengals didn't give Palmer a chance until Maddox was injured?

You're thinking of Rothlisberger...who took over for an injured Tommy Maddox in Pittsburgh in his rookie season..Palmer was given the starting job the same way JP was....in his second year no questions asked
