Bills safety Coy Wire was placed on season-ending injured reserve Friday with a hamstring injury.
To replace Wire, Buffalo signed running back Jon Goldsberry to its 53-man roster. Goldsberry, an undrafted rookie free agent, was on the Bills' practice squad all year. more (http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/mld/ledgerenquirer/sports/13518390.htm)

Actually a FB and a FB known for his special teams play so yes it makes sense.
