Injuries to key players cause Jets to suffer more than Bills

The Buffalo Bills (5-10) ring in the New Year and bring down the curtain on their 2005 season today against the New York Jets (3-12) at Giants Stadium. Last week's 37-27 win at Cincinnati showed the Bills haven't quit on coach Mike Mularkey. It looks like Kelly Holcomb will make his third straight start at quarterback. Mularkey hasn't ruled out getting some snaps for J.P. Losman, who needs all the work he can get.
The Jets have endured a worse season than the Bills. After being a missed field goal from playing for the AFC championship last year, the Jets' season came undone after losing their top two quarterbacks, Chad Pennington and Jay Fiedler, in Week Three. They also lost running back Curtis Martin and two starting offensive linemen, center Kevin Mawae and left tackle Jason Fabini. more
