Apparently, OL Coach Paul Alexander really wanted to come to Buffalo. He was DENIED permission from the Bungals to interview with Buffalo. He was also given the promotion so he wouldn't be able to leave. Here's a blurb from the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle today....
“I asked to have the opportunity to speak to Buffalo, and the Bengals denied permission,” said Alexander, who has one year left on his existing contract and therefore could not make a lateral move, which joining the Bills as their line coach would have been.
“I would have liked to talk to them because I have great admiration for Tom (Donahoe) and Gregg (Williams). It would have been a nice thing to explore and my admiration for Tom and Gregg made it enticing, but the Bengals wouldn’t let me.”
