There is no question this kid is the real deal. I like the fact that he recognises he must get away. He is going to take a month and a half off. He didn't do that last year and he feels it was a mistake, I agree.
As for as competition (again I feel there is no such thing with NFL QB's and history proves it) He isn't shying away. He welcombs it. The thing is, if you have two guys going at it, you really don't have a pure starter. You have two backups and trying to see if one gives you any edge at all. It also takes away snaps from BOTH QB's with the first string.
