"With Buffalo’s special teams ranking near the top of the league for a second straight season under the guidance of special-teams coach Bobby April, we hear that April’s job is secure no matter what happens to GM Tom Donahoe or head coach Mike Mularkey this offseason. April has endeared himself to Bills fans during this dismal season, and the special teams have become a source of pride for the franchise — the Jets’ 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Week 17 notwithstanding. Under April’s tutelage, P Brian Moorman made his first Pro Bowl this season, and KR Terrence McGee just missed on returning to Hawaii after making the Pro Bowl last year. While April rightfully gets much of the credit for his great schemes and coaching, we hear a good deal of credit also should go to Mularkey, who is convinced that the Bills spend more practice time on their special teams than any other club. Mularkey has made a commitment to using starters on the return and coverage units, and the results have been impressive."

Word from Buffalo is that QB J.P. Losman has irritated many of his teammates with his attitude. He also has angered the local media with his refusal to talk to them in recent weeks.

The Bills moved fast to sign rising LB Angelo Crowell to a contract extension after his sterling play in relief of the injured Takeo Spikes this season. We hear that Crowell’s emergence likely will spell the end of Jeff Posey’s tenure in Buffalo.

Yeah...that hit by Vincent last year was accidental.
