For years, a friend of mine and myself have discussed an idea for an original show involving the NFL. We always tossed around the idea but never went anywhere with it. I only see the guy about once a year and whenever we hook up, we start talking about the idea. He currently lives in Philly and is working with a woman who’s husband as it turns out, works for NFL Films.

I mean, what are the chances?

So he finds this out and tells her the idea! She tells him to e-mail her husband an outline of the plan! As it turns out, the guy likes the idea and wants us to send him a detailed description of our show. Then he wants to set up a meeting with my friend to discuss the idea.

He just called me last night and we discussed the details. I’ll be drawing up the detailed description today.

I know that it’s still a long shot, but my god! This would be unreal.

But I'll give you guys updates! I'm sure it'll amount to nothing, or someone at NFL Films will steal the idea, but I'm excited right now.

Update!

So my friend met with his NFL Films contact. They ran over the plan, made some changes, renamed it and after they were done they sent it all to NFL Films legal
department to secure the rights.

After that, they’ll dangle it out there to see if it gets any nibbles with producers.


Like I said before, I’m not getting my hopes up, but it’s a lot farther along then I ever expected it to be.

I bet is about Bill Bellichek causing an accident with Tom Brady, so the judge sentences him to be Brady's butler for a year. Ben Affleck has signed on for the Brady role and Bill is tabbed to be played by George Carlin.
