"It's only preseason"

One of my biggest pet peeves here (yeah I know there are many and they change) is dismissing piss poor play in preseason as "it's only preseason, it doesn't matter."

I agree that a win or loss means nothing whatsoever, but be careful! Look to see if there are signs of production from the team first before saying people like me are worried for nothing.

The reason I say it is because the veterans who aren't fighting for jobs don't give their all. Teams don't roll out gameplans. Players and coaches know it's not live, and winning is not their top priority, so they don't approach it as they would a regular game.
