Mogilny can't play up to his contract in today's NHL. He's old, and his health isn't what it used to be. New Jersey had to do something like this, because Elias is back. And boy, are the Devils alive so far since his return.

I'd give him a shot.
Don't the Devils have to pay a bulk of his salary if he gets claimed?
The sabres need a Veteran to help them provide leadership in the playoffs. Only McKee, Drury, Numenin and Grier have any significant playoff experience.
I'd pick up Mogilny for a half season and playoffs. He's better than Mair, Hecht, and some others.Comment
