People have differing opinions on Jerry Gray and the Bills Def. Some want to argue that the #2 defense really came about because of the 2004 schedule. With that in mind let's look at the 2005 Bears defense.

Schedule w/NFL rank:
Washington - 11th
Detroit (2) - 27th
Cincinnati - 6th
Cleveland - 26th
Minnesota (2) - 25th
Baltimore - 24th
New Orleans - 20th
San Francisco - 32nd
Carolina - 22nd
Tampa Bay - 23rd
Pittsburgh - 16th
Atlanta - 12th
Green Bay (2) - 18th

...the Atlanta game was in cold weather...other than Cinci I don't exactly see a lot of Offensive juggernauts there.

Bears Def are obviously is not as good as it's #2 ranking.

Interesting point Eb. Also, Atlanta only beat one team with a winning record this season, and that was the Vikes in the begining of the year when they played horribly.

They did what they needed to do.

We'll see how good they really are in the playoffs.

I'll tell you what though. The Bears' defense scored a ton of points for me in Fantasy.

It had nothing to do with the schedule. It was a one year fluke, plain and simple. Throw the kitchen sink at somebody enough times and they will learn to duck.

Well I like what the Bears have done and I'm rooting for them to take it all. For me, they are a vivid reminder of what our team should have been, and I like that about this team.

Go Bears! Good God, I hope I didn't just curse them by saying that. I feel like every team I root for loses. I better apologize to all Bear fans now just in case.
