HAHA! I'm so glad to see Marv doesn't have alzheimers!! Still looks and sounds sharp as a tack!
I couldn't agree more... He sounds as confident as ever.

I'm currently 100% sold on this move now!

Michael82

IMO, Marv is now the main decision maker on draft day, but he will have a lot of other guys in there trying to help him out.

At least with Marv most of us, at worst, will be disappointed. With TD, most of us hate his guts. If things come to that with Marv, this team will be worse than we ever could've imagined.

Vcoach just said that he is just VP of Football Operations :idunno:

I thiink that the GM duties have been seperated between he and Modrak. Modrak will be GM of Administrative Business and Marv will be GM of Football Operations.

Why should I be bitter over a team that WON 2 championships in a row and lost a 3rd by 3 points due to a remarkable perfomance. I live in Los Angeles we are actually used to WINNING championships and dont settle for just getting to the championship game.

The move to Marv brings in someone with no proven track record as GM, keeps Modrak who barely comes to Buffalo and works out of his home, and keeps an obvius inept HC.

If that gives you hope then dont let me rain on your parade, but I see no big change here just smoke and mirrors to sell tickets next year

Not all teams have a GM.

The Patriots don't have anyone with the title of GM. Scott Pioli is the VP of Player Personnel. Bill Belichick's only title is head coach.

The important think is that someone holds the final authority on football matters. Belichick has that in NE, but he isn't the GM.

Marv has the passion and desire to want to win a Championship. His job qualification is suspect. He is a leader and that is something this team lacks. Best Of Luck Marv... You're going to need it.

So now you're playing the high and mighty card "We win championships" while simultaneously bashing the Bills and Bills fans? Is your real name Harvey Dent?

Must be nice to have your cake and eat it too, Mr Superior.

Take it how you want, I thought the goal of any sport is to win a championship?? Sorry if I cant get excited about a move that does nothing in my mind to improve the team and in my mind weakens it.

You wanted to put in the bitter part about USC, I can handle a loss in sports its just entertainment anyway, but when your team continually misses the playoffs and is stuck in the mud spinning its tires there needs to be a turning point somewhere.

This to me is not a turning point for the Buffalo Bills orginazation, what is even more disapointing is the number of fans who cant handel an opposing position to their own.

His opinion wasn't the issue. He bashed the Bills and fans while pretending to also be a Bills fan. Pretty hypocritical. I was just ribbing him about USC and he had that as a rebuttle. Hit a nerve I guess but he hit below the belt.
He has a good point though. 2 of those 4 Super Bowls we were favored to win and he couldn't deliver. What makes you think he can do a good job at something he has never done before?

I hope I am wrong. I hope Marv brings us to the promised land. I have just lost hope with this team. The sad part is that this really is the first time as a Bills fan I have felt this way. :sadwalk:

I like it, I think the move has promise. Would I have liked a more thorough house cleaning? Yes.
What has been going on at OBD apparantly is that Donahoe was what we all thought, an egotistical jerk with an iron hand. All the emphasis on Marv coming back are about building consensus and cohesiveness. And I think it's a damn healthy approach. If you treat your people with respect you will get the best out of them. I believe they can all get on the same page.
I think the real keys will be a new conditioning coach, and bringing in accomplished offensive and defensive coordinators.
And hopefull Marv can teach MM some theories about play calling.

During the height of NFC superiority over the AFC - you try again.

As far as basketball having a salary cap - tell me that there wasn't some kind of corruption going into a team that had as many big name players as the lakers did during their run.

If you can - I'll never be convinced it's not BS - so don't even waste your time.

If Baseball were less boring, and it still had no salary cap - I'd still have no interest in it - it's no fun when you pretty much know the Yanks are going to do (be it Division champs/ AL or NL - what ever league they're in champs) at least something.

Yeah let's see here now - Mark Engram, Rodney Hampton, Lawrence Taylor (one of the greatest LBs of all time), coached by Parcells - humm we really were lightyears ahead of the Giants there talentwise.

Mark Rypien, Art Monk a great offensive line, and a top 5 defense coached by another one of the greatest coaches of all time - yeah once again we were really light years ahead of the Redskins too.

I'm sure I don't even have to start on the Cowboys - oh wait yes I do...

Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Cokehead Irvin, one of the greatest offensive lines ever assembled (it's been said that if Barry Sanders ran behind that line he'd approach damn near 3,000 yards in a single season), and a top 3 defense both times, an OC named Norv Turner that happens to be getting his name thrown around a lot on here to be our new OC - yeah, we had way way more talent than this team - you're absolutely right LA Playa - I'll never argue with you again - you're always right.

Once again, I'll throw the NFC Superiority thing in your face (if it makes you feel any better, it wasn't just us - the Broncos, Bengals, Dolphins all got their @$$es kicked during this era too if it makes you feel any better.

As far as the debate about us being outcoached in our SB's...only in one game were we outcoached and that was the giants game. Giants ball control offense kept the ball out of kelly's hands. It was a good gameplan by parcells. The other three games we were just plain outmatched.

Once again, I'll throw the NFC Superiority thing in your face (if it makes you feel any better, it wasn't just us - the Broncos, Bengals, Dolphins all got their @$$es kicked during this era too if it makes you feel any better.

there's a simple explanation for all of this - Black people don't like the cold and white people don't like to jump.
You got it.

You think Damon makes you World Series bound? :lmao:

By the way, how does Mussina feel about being an ace? :lmao:
Goose-balerina is no ace nor is he relied on as an ace. He'll be gone after this coming season or sooner. We have a surplus of starters, with future ace Phillip Hughes waiting in the wings... There's also Josh "Undertaker" Schmidt coming up who will lay batters to rest. Be afraid.

Damon is only one piece to the puzzle, but the pieces are ready to come together. Beware. You can call this the New World Order of Yankee baseball.

/smack

Seriously, who knows how Damon will do? I won't count on Moose for anything, I think he's done. The rest of the 'surplus' is plenty suspect but the bullpen looks solid, Toronto is up and coming but has to prove it, and Boston has more holes than swiss cheese presently so that makes the Yanks the favorites in the AL East, for now anyway.

Boston as of now has a better starting staff and possibly a better bullpen than the Yankees. I say possibly because the Yankees still do have MO. But Mike Myers? What was Cashman smoking? :lmao:

Lefties batted .158 against Myers last year and his overall ERA was 3.13. He is what he is; a solid lefty specialist but terrible against righties. It was a solid pickup.

Boston's starters:
Beckett - Solid yet recently injury prone and also an NL pitcher
Schilling - who knows if he'll recover
Wells - still wants to be traded
Clement - Boston's 05 version of the Yankees' 04 Javier Vazquez
Wakefield - steady but is going to get rocked when the knuckleball ain't fluttering
Arroyo - borderline 5th starter/bullpen guy

Yankees starters:
Johnson - Didn't live up to the hype but few 1st year Yankee FA pitchers do, can he defy his age?
Moose - already covered
Chacon - pitched phenominally in both season w/Yanks and in playoffs. Still a question mark if he can keep it up a full season.
Wang - looked solid but can he stay healthy and contribute?
Pavano - will he regain form?
Wright - long relief/emergency starter
Small - long relief/emergencey starter

Neither rotation looks superior to the other and both have its share of question marks, from an unbiased point of view.

So the wide right was Marv's fault?
NO! What was Marv's fault was calling 3 running plays in a row in the waining min. of the game. Norwood should never have been put into that situation in the first place and Marv has acknowledged that! You are such a :homer:
