The NFL merger might owe it all to Ralph Wilson as he kept the Patriots and Raiders afloat, and essentially the entire AFL. Had he not stepped in, the AFL would most likely have contracted and folded, there would have been no Super Bowl or merger, and the game would not be what it is today.
