Real Football (link from the front page of the Billszone) suggests that the Bills have five candidates for offensive coordinator: Sam Wyche, Norv Turner, Josh McDaniels (QB coach for the patriots), Jim Zorn (QB coach for Seahawks), and Mike Heimerdinger (OC for Jets)

Heimerdinger could become available because of Edwards' departure for KC. They suggest the most likely choice is either Turner or Wyche. I suspect though that Wyche might take himself out of the runniing for health reasons. I don't recall if it was hear or elsewhere that I heard he is feeling quite tired after the past season. I think my least favorite candidate would be Zorn because I'm not quite ready to attempt the west coast offence again. Its very complicated and takes a long time to learn. I think Buffalo needs an offence that can generate some quick success.

Wyche probably got tired riding the quarterback carousel and watching Mularkey and Clements struggling to come up with one successful play between them.

Heimerdinger from what I hear, is the leading candidate to replace Kubiak when he leaves. H and Sherman go way back.

Wyche is ok but too many health issues esp with the heart.

I want Turner or Josh McDaniels. How can you go wrong with a guy that helped run that offense and helped develop Tom Brady?

Cute post, Jan, but remember Wyche has an incurable heart condition in addition to the paralyzed vocal cord. At some point he will need a heart transplant if one can be found or he'll end up completely disabled.

If Bills are considering Norv Turner, they might include Mike Sherman on this list.

Turner or McDaniels sounds like the best options.

I'd take any one of those fine fellows, especially McDaniels.

Norv is the only one I know, so he would be fine by me.

I would like to see Norv here. He has clearly shown he can't hack it as a head coach and should stick to what he does best. WHICH IS POUND THE DAMN BALL. He rode Ricky till he up and quit. I like that kind of offense.

I hate Norv Turner. Wyche would be a good candidate, and I wouldn't mind getting the Patriots guy. After all, Brady was a 6th round pick and look where he is now....

And lets not forget the 90's cowboys he was OC of. They definately had the type of offense I would like to see in here. Not flashy, but they WIN!

Norv would be a good choice in buffalo. If MM doesn't throw a temper tantrum and take the play calling away from him half way through the season.
