    HoF Finalists

Not to steal Devin's thunder but I wanted to get people's thoughts on the 6 that will get in..

    • Troy Aikman, QB, 1989-00 Cowboys
    • Harry Carson, LB, 1976-88 Giants
    • L.C. Greenwood, DE, 1969-81 Steelers
    • Russ Grimm, G, 1981-91 Redskins
    • Claude Humphrey, DE, 1968-74, 1976-78 Falcons, 1979-1981 Eagles
    • Michael Irvin, WR, 1988-99 Cowboys
    • Bob Kuechenberg, G, 1970-84 Dolphins
    • x-John Madden, coach, 1969-78 Raiders
    • Art Monk, WR, 1980-1993 Redskins, 1994 Jets, 1995 Eagles
    • Warren Moon, QB, 1984-93 Oilers, 1994-96 Vikings, 1997-98 Seahawks, 1999-2000 Chiefs
    • Derrick Thomas, LB, 1989-99 Chiefs
    • Thurman Thomas, RB, 1988-99 Bills, 2000 Dolphins
    • Reggie White, DE/DT, 1985-92 Eagles, 1993-98 Packers, 2000 Panthers
    • x-Rayfield Wright, T, 1967-79 Dallas Cowboys
    • Gary Zimmerman, T, 1986-92 Vikings, 1993-97 Broncos
    x-Seniors nominee

    Locks:
    • Madden (way too famous, has to get in - only two senior nominees and you need one in the mix)
    • White (although not sure if death will help or hurt

    Probable:
    • Aikman (personally dont think he should be in this soon - if at all - but he's probable)
    • Thurmal (he was THE man)
    • Irvin (hate him with a passion but someone from that Dallas dynasty is getting in)

    Outside shot:
    • Greenwood (it's long overdue)
    • Monk (it's long overdue but there is a bias against WRs)
    • Derrick Thomas (sentimental vote)

Should be in but probably won't:

AIkmen is a lock. Thurman should be a lock. Same with Derrick Thomas. Might as well get Irvin in now. I'd hate for him to get in at the same time as Reed and steal all the attention.

I don't buy that. I know the voters are supposed to vote on what the player did on the field. But come on how many of those voters actually do that? Most likely very few. He didn't make it in last year because of his drug problems that he had in the league and i doubt he will this year as well with the new charge that came up.

It's simple reed kept his nose clean for the most part. I really can't remember arrest or anything coming from reed (but i could be wrong). Sure they have identical numbers but reed is the more likeable guy. Irvin is a conceded Arsehole. I'm sure if the drug problems weren't there for irvin then if he didn't get in then reed wouldn't either.

But because they are and voters most likely will look at that then i think reed could get in before irvin.

I understand that. But i was watching outside the lines a couple of weeks ago and they talked about this. Sayin the reason he was left off last year was because some voters took in to account of his off field antics. Because of what happened again this year he might endure the same fate. I know that stats help you get in and i also know that rings will help even more.

But come on there is no account for character in this. I mean looking at Irvin bust in Canton. Shouldn't it have a white line above his lip? LOL

                            Re: HoF Finalists

Aikman is a lock for his rings, and because he's on tv.
Irvin is a lock because he's on tv.
Madden might make it because he's on tv.
Reggie White makes it because he's dead and the press had a woodie for him.
LC Greenwood makes it for the four rings.

                            Anyone notice a pattern there?

I want to see Thurman make it, but the electors won't remember that:

He's the Bills all time rusher.
He led the league in YFS what...4 years in a row? Or was it 5?
He's the Bills 3rd all time receiver.
Caught 13 passes in a playoff game

All they'll remember is that he's the guy who lost his helmet.

I hope I'm wrong....but you know the respect the Bills get from the national press....it's almost non-extistent.
