ahh I Didnt see it at first, the skate blade of the St. Louis Player got him when teh sabre took him down..

oh man....u wanna know something? Thats the first time I've ever seen that. I'll tell you why. For some reason, I was grounded that day. The only way my parents could really punish me was to not let me watch Sabres hockey. So as my father watched the game on NFSN (channel before it was Empire), he tells me that Malarchuk got his neck cut by a skate. Now, Malarchuk was my favorite player on the team. I still have a blue Malarchuk jersey. So, being nice, he let me listen to Rick and Jim on the radio the rest of the night. I remember Foligno scored but we still lost 2-1. At that moment, the score didn't matter and thank God Malarchuk lived.

Thats my take on that. Holy crap I feel like i'm 9 again. That was in Spring 1989 right after we got him. After that he went kinda crazy. Had wicked OCD and drank alot. He was off the team and out of the NHL a few years later.

Roby did color with Ted Darling on TV until like 91-92 when they platooned him with Lorentz and then gave the job to Lorentz and put Roby in the studio for intermissions and such. Jeanneret was joined by Larry Playfair and Danny Gare on radio in the early 90's till the Sabres moved RJ to TV and eventually simulcasted on radio.

Oh, I forgot the John Gurtler play by play years. Ughhh Constipated cow anyone?

Roby was good. I'd like to see him do color again. But wheres he gonna go?

I've seen that one before. As soon as I saw "Clint Malarchuk" in the video I knew what it was. I didn't even watch it this time. Just trying to remember the video was painful enough.

I was at that game. That brought back memories of people fainting in the orange sections.
