That Haslett is at the front of the list, he believes we could see Martz and Sherman on the list....

Of those choices

1. Sherman

Like him or not, Martz's teams always scored a lot of points. I wouldn't have a prob if we brought in a Capers at DC.

id be afraid Martz would drop dead. Writing appears to be on the wall fellas........

At any rate we got what we wanted.

Now we have to hold our breath and hope someone of quality is brought in.

Agreed.

But then again...

Sherman, Haslett, Saunders, Kubiak, Mangini, Cottrell > Martz

We gotta get a comtemporary of Levy and Wilson. How about Jim Mora?

Among the names already speculated as possible replacements for Mularkey are former New Orleans Saints (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=nor) coach Jim Haslett, recently fired Minnesota Vikings (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=min) defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell and current Bills special teams coach Bobby April. Haslett and Cottrell served on Buffalo coaching staffs in the past. Haslett has strong ties to Bills assistant general manager Tom Modrak and some current and past players have already begun lobbying for Cottrell to be interviewed. April was the league's special teams coach of the year in 2004, is popular with players, and is seeking a head coach position.

Hmmm...let the Bobby April chants begin.

Wasn't Marv Levy a former Special Teams coach? :D

No sherman, i watch every packers game out here in iowa. his play calling sucks and half the time his team is unprepared for who they play. All my friends are die hard packer fans and all agree that the only reason they went to the playoffs is b/c of Farve, they also point out that over the last few years Chi, Min, and Det have all really sucked. They all agreed that the only way that they would have wanted sherman to return this year was if it guaranted Farves return. Please no Sherman, if you thought that MM play calling was bad you should have seen Sherman's, it was very similar. So i say any of the above listed except Sherman.

Fassel is still out there. I don't think Kubiak has signed with Houston yet.

I think if I wanted to trade for ANY coach, the first one on MY list would be Marty Schottenheimer. He always seems to have good teams.

He has been fired several times. The players love him, but I don't think we need a players coach here. We need someone who won't take any crap. We need a Bill Belichick, Jon Gruden, Bill Parcells or a Tom Coughlin. Not a nice guy like Ted Cottrell.

Marty Schottenheimer has been unsuccessful in playoffs; not coach for Bills.

I bet the PC tomorrow is to announce haslett as HC. The SOB said this is his dream job. Ralph will throw him a mill per (Making him the lowest paid HC) and give him spit to field a staff with, and Haslett will eat it up.

I don't understand why everyone thinks ralph is so cheap. He pays a buttload of money for players...what's a couple of mil per year extra for a coach?

It's a baseless claim, IMO. Besides, TD was running the team correct? So it would make sense that he was the one who lowballed MM.

lordofgun
01-13-2006, 12:27 AM
Oh, and if Ralph didn't care about winning, he'd never have fired TD or anyone else for that matter. Let's give the guy some credit for making a few moves we all wanted him to make in the last couple weeks.

No way. It would be impossible for them to name Haslett tomorrow due to the Rooney Rule. And Haslett will not be the lowest paid coach in the league since he has experience.

As for your rant about crossing Martz or any other good HC off the list, Haslett is twice the HD Martz is.

Make no mistake, Haslett is their number 1 choice. Cottrell, while he does have an outside shot, is probably more of a Rooney Rule interview.

Mike Martz is scarier than MM. Mr. trick play. Most analysts think he is an idiot. I've watched him single handedly lose games for the Rams. No thanks.
