CINCINNATI -- Carson Palmer's knee injury was "devastating and potentially career-ending," involving numerous ligament tears, a shredded ligament, damaged cartilage and a dislocated kneecap, his surgeon said Thursday.

The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback tore ligaments in his left knee when he was hit by Pittsburgh's Kimo von Oelhoffen on his first pass during the Steelers' 31-17 playoff victory Sunday.
The team announced that he had torn the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments. The damage was much more extensive and severe, but Dr. Lonnie Paulos said surgery went well and Palmer could be back for the start of the season.

Give me a break. There was nothing dirty at all about that hit.

Sorry, due to the lightning speeds the site is operating at, I missed this thread:
On ESPN news they just had on John Clayton. He says that Carson Palmers career could be in Jepordy because his injury is worse then orignally thought. This sucks i really like Palmer. I hope this isn't true.

Dirty thug? No. It definitely wasnt intentional. You could tell on him face that he felt really bad for hurting him.

I think it was pretty clear that Kimo did not do it on purpose. If you see his reaction after the hit he seemed just as distressed about it as Palmer did who had his knee torn apart. I dont think Kimo is dirty the least bit.

I think you're confused- you're thinking of the "no hitting Tom Brady below... well, no hitting Tom Brady" rule.

Sounds like he is going to have to rehab like a machine to be able to even play next season.

Are you serious? The Guy had previously been on Cincy for years and immediatly called for help.

                      No way that was intentional

The rule for hitting the QB below the knees only is a penalty if the player is not engaged with another player. Hence he was tangled up with I believe Levi Jones and fell as he was trying to sack the QB so not penalty.

first off.. there was no way that hit was dirty imho.. like others have said.. kimo was obviously distressed after he saw palmer hurt and he was clearly blocked into him.. there was no penalty called on the play even.

second.. i cant believe in todays world of medical advancement.. they cant fix a kneee of a guy who doesnt need to run? it is not like palmer is vick.. i am sure he will be back.

I personally don't think he wanted to hurt him, but I think it's obvious he made a conscious effort to bring the QB down anyway possible on the play. He didn't want to hurt him, but I think it's fairly obviously he intentionally grabbed his leg and started rolling to bring him down.
