All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Chris Mortensen has learned that Parcells has given permission to Sean Payton the qb coach of the cowboys to interview with the Bills. I know he's a name that has been thrown around, but im not sure if he would be my ideal canidate.
Next to them giving April a shot, Payton would be right up there on my list. I got to hear a lot about him here in the local media when he was with the Giants - he's very similar to Gruden, though I don't think he's quite as big a hard ass.
Im not sure it doesn't say head, or Oc, but im assuming that they wouldn't hire the Cordinator before the coach, and isn't this the same guy who Fassel took away his playing calling the year they want to the superbowl?
They won't be worrying too much about an OC until they have an HC. It almost has to be the HC job they're talking about. Payton's official title in Dallas this season was Assistant Head Coach/Passing Offence Coordinator. As Passing Game Coordinator and Quarterback Coach he got lots of production out of Quincy Carter, Vinny Testaverde, and Drew Bledsoe. You have to admit that's impressive. Plus he's no doubt been schooled in the Bill Parcells method. That can't hurt. I'm sure they could do a lot worse (like Green Bay).
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.
I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.
I seem to remember Fassel taking the play calling duties back at some point too, but I could be wrong. But for the Superbowl season it was Payton's job.
You are correct my friend fassel did take away his play calling duties.. Don't get me wrong i think he could be a good coach..But with this team i think we need an experienced guy...Look for marv to promote that or himself for the job...

This did happen, but this guy is thought of highly around the league and actually turned down the Raiders HC position before Norv Turner finally accepted it. He DID call the plays in Dallas this year, as Parcells had enough faith in him to turn over the play calling duties. Would not be a bad choice from what I'm reading from many sports outlets. He has learned from one of the best and that is a huge plus. Parcells does not seem to keep bad coaches on his staff, from what I've seen, so that has to mean something.

Bmax
....
I think you might be correct Bmax and for that I may have to shoot myself if Marv becomes HC!
