The same thing happened with Irving Fryar when he was with the Pats. Got into an argument with his wife, and she cut him with a kitchen knife.

Irv's wife was nuts.

Another time, he went to the lockerroom during a game because he suffered an injury, and his wife came in and started screaming at him. Apparently, she found out about an affair he was having, and couldn't wait to chew him out. They screamed at each other for a while, and then Irving stormed out and left before the game ended. He was still wearing his t-shirt and football pants, and he got into his car and screamed out of the stadium. He made it less than a couple miles before wrecking the car against a tree. When he got in the accident, the Pats were still playing the game.
