I remember Word having a bunch of sacks for the Browns one year.

How are we signing players without a HC? Is this Marv's decision?

what is a "reserve-future" contract?

I feel so much better about our lines already.

"what is a "reserve-future" contract?"

Means when they suck in the future, we disavow all knowledge of signing them. (joke).

Means they are signed for the 2006 roster even though that season won't start officially until March.

coaches don't make signings..that's ultimately the GM's job

Word might end up making the team as a pass rushing specialist if he can revert back to his breakout form when he had 8 sacks for the Brownies.

With the Browns he played every game in 2002-2003 seasons:

2002 - 8 sacks, 4 FF, 21 tackles and 1 pass def.

2003 - 4 sacks, 2 FF, 15 tackles, 2 pass def.

Yeah I know GM's sign players ultimately...but USUALLY a coach has a say in it. Must've just been Marv's and Modrak's decision in the end. Just don't know why we'd bring on more ppl to the roster before a coach has a little input that's all.

if we waited too long, maybe some of these players who could contribute to the 2006 squad wll be snatched up elsewhere

If they were players who commanded significant signing bonuses,. I'm sure the head coach would need to have some input since they would represent a major investment, but teams can cut guys like this with not much of a financial hit.

Well, Mr. Jim McNally is still the OL coach and it seems that it's not only Marv Levy's decission.

Anyway, both lines are the weakest points and it should be addressed as soon as possible. (specially OG and DT...)

There is no pleasing some of you. Granted these aren't top tier FAs, but at least the Bills are addressing the weak portion of the depth chart. If nothing was happening you would be complaining then. Not every singing is a Sam Adams etc.

Alright, that is some good signs. At least the team is moving forward and getting things going. This is good news for me. Now take your time and get the right coach and let us move forward.

I wasn't complaining, RedEyE. I only stated these are low/no risk signings. If they don't pan out it really costs nothing.
