Even though we haven't been playing as well...I'm really pleased with how the guys called up have been playing. I think they are going to start gelling better with the squad up here and play much better on this road trip.

I see that too, let's continue the hottness from last game.

LETS GO SABRES!!!

I've Read a Mass Amount of Articles that say the reason the Rookies from AHL are playing well when called up is because Lindy Ruff was down in Rochester Last Season Trainin the players on the sabres gameplan so the transistion wouldnt be that big..

Don't start Miller---He's "streaky"! :funny: (Ok, JD, that's the last time for awhile)

I thought Morrison was to start tonight for Edmonton, but Jussi Markkanen is in there, instead. He's been an every-other-game guy, too, so since he got shelled last time out, tonight might be the night he plays well.

01-16-2006, 08:18 PM
Way to start the game off, guys!

I know I picked Hemsky as a star and all, but I don't really want to be right. :crap:

pyrrhonist

Now that's a slash!

I just switched channels recently, and see that the Pacific division is yet again playing doormat to the Habs. We helped them on Saturday by annihilating the Kings, and this is how they repay us?

pyrrhonist
01-16-2006, 08:41 PM
Damn, did Hemsky just get destroyed!

(Ok, after further review, that wasn't as bad as I thought....but it was clean)

If Jason Smith doesn't get tossed for the instinkator, I'll laugh. I hate the rule, but what's fair is fair.

Kalinin u dumb ass...

Game Misconduct, I'm pretty sure Mckee can fight for himself.

pyrrhonist
01-16-2006, 08:50 PM
Indeed, it was a good period.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around why Kalinin thought he needed to get involved in that "fight", though. What a total pendejo. I'm sure Lindy is going to chew his ass.

JD

He probably had a hoe waiting in the locker room :idunno:

I can't believe Rayzor is trying to defend Kalinin's actions? If anything, McKee got no shots in, and he would've just gotten the roughing (IMO). But what do I know.... :penalty:

Roby is the "smart" one of the Shootout crew. My wife likes to refer to him as "that old ass dude". It's hilarious, but the guy does know his hockey.

I like Rayzor as well, but I disagreed with his assessment of what Kalinin was doing. That was foolish.

And put that club away! :D

What gives with the PP tonight? I guess my fears have been realized, and Buffalo overdid themselves on Saturday. :crap:

Soon, there had better be signs of this in the crowd at HSBC:

RYAN IS GOD

He absolutely made the save of the night right there.

Jesus, this game is ugly. Me thinks another fight is just what the doctor ordered to sort some of these cheap shots out.

I sure hope that Buffalo gets off of their asses, and decides to score during one these PPs.

Edmonton has been in the box too many times tonight to have a goose egg on PP goals for Buffalo.

JD
01-16-2006, 09:42 PM
We have had three 5on3's..COME ON #2 POWERPLAY...do something!!

3 Minute powerplay.. WE NEED to score on this PP!

JD
01-16-2006, 09:43 PM
Pyrr..Connolly did score on the PP however, but STILL...we need more for the chances that weve had.

Alot of hits, and splits.. OUCH miller! I pulled my groin watching him do that, just as lorentz did...

pyrrhonist
01-16-2006, 09:47 PM
You're right, JD, but for as many Oilers have been in the box, 1 goal is sad.

The 5-on-3 should all but be a guaranteed goal. The Sabres tonight remind of me of watching how the wife's Sharks play the PP: Too much passing, not enough pucks on the net. I know patience is required (And has often paid off for Buffalo this season), but damn, you've got to shoot to score.

The Oil fans who post on another board I go to, as well as on TSN.ca (On the page where the game article is) seem to have huge issue with McKee's "dirty" hit. Many of them seem to be convinced it was knee-on-knee.

While his knee was out during the time of the hit, he made contact with the shoulder, from what I saw during the game, and on the replays of it. But hey, I'm just a homer! :D
