Raiders | Adams Back On the Market Shortly - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
6:13 PT: The San Francisco Chronicle reports Oakland Raiders DT Sam Adams will shortly be back on the free-agent market. Adams signed a long-term deal before the season, but will command a base salary of $5 million for 2003 and a roster bonus of $5 million in March – a total cap hit of $10.208 million. The cap-strapped Raiders will either want him to re-do his deal, or they will cut him. “As far as I’m concerned, after the Super Bowl, I become a free agent,” Adams said. “I’d like to sign a long-term deal and stay in one place, keep my family stable and not have to worry about things.”

If we sign him, there better be a clause that says: Everytime you come out of the game because of shortness of breath, or tiredness, you forfeit $25,000 of your original contract.

Cletidus Hunt and Brandon Noble are both UFA they are just as good, and younger than Sam Adams plus they will be cheaper so we should go after one of them.

Not to resurrect a dead post, but while I'm a huge fan of both Hunt and Noble, neither is in the class of Sam Adams (that is the S.Adams of the Balt. superbowl team and the Raiders of the last 7 or so games). Personally, if the Bills intend to keep this defensive system, SA would be a great fit at NT, and Big Pat would fill in more comfortably at his more natural position UT. Additionally, those two anchoring the middle of our D, would instantly make any LBs we bring in even better.
