NFL Total Access said that it is between DJ and Sherman for HC. Also, they mentioned Jim Bates as DC for us!

Did they just say that? I'm at work, so I haven't been able to see what the media is saying this evening.

They've interviewed 2 guys. The media is just speculating.

Clayton said the same thing. He says Jauron has a slight edge because marv knows him, but Sherman was #1 on the list. Expect Sherman to be hired thursday.

Once again, it looks like the Bills will ignore the insight of Ublink...

Nothing's changed if we hire Jauron...

Agree or not, Marv Levy is the GM and it's wise start thinking that Jauron is the best fit to this organization.
Sherman was a GM-HC and it seems that he could be a significant detrimental factor to Bills environment.

Don't you guys see what this is? He hires Jauron, Marv coaches this team THROUGH Jauron. He will control everything.

DJ doesn't have the greatest overall record, but if he is picked over Sherman, than we will know that Marv sees something of the old school quality in him. We have to trust Marv, we owe it to him as loyal fans of Buffalo as he brought us our most memorable days as fans. I think that picking up Jim Bates would be a great move as he is a motivator and a great DC.

Here's a little info on some of the canidates that were out there and their overall records. Enjoy!

Jesus C*****! After looking at Sherman's 5 out of 6 winning seasons, it would be hard to pass him up! Can you imagine:

Marv Levy GM

Mike Sherman HC

Mike Martz OC

Jim Bates DC

What a friggin crop of coaching talent!

A running game is a horrible thing to waste..

Martz won't be the HC. If the HC wants to run the ball then we run the ball more. Don't look at the negative. Look at the potent passing offense that Martz created. He made sure that the Rams had more than one QB that could pass the rock and they did...Bulger, Martin, Fitzpatrick, What's his nuts!

Besides, look at the stats for Steven Jackson this year. They are not 30 carries a game, but pretty close to 20 just for him each game except for 2 games in the first half of the season. Look at SJ's total rushing yards for the year, not much less than Willis. But look at the points that theior offense put up this year...more than ours. So yes Martz is more pass happy than we would like if you want a running coach, but when you can throw the ball like that it opens up the run a hell of a lot more than with the s*** offens that we've had the past 6 years!

Coordinators are closer to being a dime a dozen than the HC worthy pool is right now.

We need to just worry about who we bring in as HC - and I'm totally convinced that Sherman is our guy (the right fit, with the results to back it).

BTW, Total Access said that if Sherman were to get hired, he would most likely bring in Bates as DC. I would rather have Sherman. Someone please stand outside tomorrow of Ralph Wilson Stadium and show the support for bringing in Sherman as Coach!!!!

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that Mike Martz has the one of the worst turnover ratios as a head coach. He is -62 for his head coaching career. Who would want that?

Jpdex12, do you think you can delete some of the spaces in your post so we don't have to scroll so much to read this thread?

Don't you guys see what this is? He hires Jauron, Marv coaches this team THROUGH Jauron. He will control everything.

Ralphie says that the GM will not coach the team the head coach will coach the team.

It's going to be Jouran...I just know it. :ill:

(Btw - it's Jauron) If he is hired then we will not get better.

:monkeyp: Jauron

Great news. I'd be estatic w/ Sherman, but I'd be fine w/ Jauron too. Bates will be a excellent DC for us, will help us get Grady Jackson, and be an advantage for us against the NFC north next year. This is how I see it turning out:

Sherman HC
April Ast. HC/ST
Bates DC
