on ESPN Mel Kiper did his top 10 and he has us taking Ngata with both Ferguson and Williams being gone before we are up...He has Ferguson going to the Jets, and Williams going to the Packers I believe...I have a feeling hes right. Id be happy with Ngata!:limpclap:

Thats what I've been saying all along! NGATA IS OUR PICK!

it would certainly fill a need as well as probably being the best player available when the bills pick

I know we need help on the D-Line but i dont know if anyone else watched the bowl game he played in against oklahoma??? I watched the game and i didnt see him make a play or stop the run once all game, also at the end of the game, he wasnt even in on 3rd and 4th downs. I dont know if he was tired or what but he didnt impress me at all.

DT can be filled in FA. With our pick we should be taking either Williams or Kiwanuka. We need get pressure on QBs. That being said, I dont see much talent at the DE position in FA, and even if there was its expensive, whereas a DT is much cheaper. If we get Ngata then who will our LDE be?...Kelsay has not got the job done.

I think you definitely take Mario Williams if hes there but i think the 8th pick would be too early to take Kiwanuka, Mel kiper has him as the 3rd DE in the draft behind Tamba Hali

I wish there was some way we could get Ferguson or Williams...

Kiper has been wrong about ALOT of players. Remember when he thought Leaf was a better pick than Manning?

Yeah i agree, its still too early, alot of players stock will change after what they do at the combine. I would love to d'brick fall to us at 8

I also dont like Kiwanuka, because i watched the boise state game and i didnt see much, i would much rather wait a round or two and pick up manny lawson, this guy is a freak, but im sure his stock will rise after he cleans up at the combine

Anythng can happen on draft day man. Marv could pull something out of his ass and have us move up in the draft so we can snag a guy like Williams. I personally am against trading up because every draft pick is simply too much of a risk if you ask me.

I would personally rather see us go after a real OL myself.

Who is Manny Lawson?

If we pick either Ngata or Kiwanuka its goin to be a wasted pick. Ngata is big and has all the measurables but he looks incredibly incredibly soft as a player. He doesn't play with a mean streak at all. Kiwanuka is 260 pounds and 6'6. That is pretty light for a guy his height and will easily get driven off the ball in the NFL in the run game, just like he was in the Boise bowl game against an NFL caliber tackle in Colledge.

He's a DE/OLB from NC State

Manny Lawson is the other NC State DE who gets way overshadowed but he would not fill into the Bills schemes. He only weighs about 240 pounds as a DE and would have to adjust to moving to LB in the NFL whether its in a 4-3 or 3-4

What schemes the bills run depends on who they bring in as the DC, like i said for a 2nd or 3rd round pick i might be worth the chance, the guy is an absolute freak

If Ngata is a wasted pick than who do we go for? Theres no other top Olineman worth taking and same with Dlineman at that high in the draft. If Ferguson or Williams are gone its a done deal we're gettin Ngata. Im not impressed with any WRs or CBs enough to take them at 8.

now why people are thinking that we are goin to switch to a 3-4. We would have to completely revamp our whole roster. We have one DE who could play DE in a 3-4 and that is Denney. We currently have zero DT's who could be a nose guard because Adams thinks he is a pass rushing DT. Schobel would have to move to OLB. Kelsay would have to move to LB. Unless we want to spend our whole draft on making a 3-4 happen like the Cowboys did last year its not gonna happen.

Trade down or take Michael Huff or Winston Justice who will be the # 2 tackle when all is said and done and he could easily be a LT in the NFL.

Yeah i dont think anyone said that we were going to switch to a 3-4 but i dont think anyone will rule it out, without knowing who our HC and DC are going to be

I agree with you.

Id much rather go the Chris Hovan/Damione Lewis/Ryan Pickett/Larry Tripplett/Grady Jackson route rather than a high draftee. If anything sign one or more of those guys FIRST and THEN draft a DT.

Its too important to us to trust a rookie right away.

Besides, If you had a chance at the next Bruce Smith or the next Warren Sapp, who would YOU take? Thats an easy one to me. The 8th pick is just too high to not get a guy with the potential to be the next Peppers. Williams and Kiwi both could be that type.

Although, I must admit Ive been watching the MIchael Haynes situation closely. He wants out of Chi.

I am not too sold on Ngata. I watched one of my freshman guards beat him in pass protection one on one. Not impressed.

I feel kiper is wrong. Green Bay is in love with L. White and he won't last past thier pick. I also think we take the Tackle from USC that just declared.

Justice, that is the guy. No we will take him if he is there and do it with the #8 spot. Look Marv is new at this and isn't that good yet. I don't see modrak moving our pick at all, so whomever we take will be at the #8 spot.

Modrak has experience drafting that high and I feel he will make a good pick.

What do you mean? Holcomb gave us the best chance to win...maybe...in that game...only to still end up 5 and 11...and throw 4 ints against the Jets...but SOMEHOW he MUST give us the best chance to win.

Many of us (especially me) said three games into the season that we might as well start Losman all year and let him learn, because we werent a playoff team anyways. Had we of done that we easily could have gone 4 and 10 and had the 3rd pick.

But hey, why not play a career vet who can play only a little better and win 5 and 11, still out of the playoffs.

GOOD CALL!!!

Manning goes 3 and 13, had a whole season to learn, ended up with the 4th pick where they took Edge.

It SHOULD have worked that way for us. It would have only taken vision beyond a non playoff year.

Justice is an all out stud, and has turned his life around to prove that in fact he is a character guy. However, he is a career RT (at USC). He is a proven stud for sure. But do you take a RT at 8?

I wouldnt mind it, I guess Id feel a hell of alot better if it was at 15-20.

Justice at RT, Peters at LT, I love it. But our biggest o-line needs are at the interior.

Lawson is a freak. I live in near Raleigh, NC (home of NC State). Lawson is an exceptional athlete. He was a state champion in track and the high jump. He is going to blow people away at the combine. I'd project him has a pass rush specialist or OLB to start, until he can balk up.

So you want to take another right tackle and switch him to the left side because thats where he projects in the pro's. Seems I've heard that bs somewhere before. I'm not crazy about taken a guy at #8 who then has to play a new position. Wait until rd. 2 and get your left tackle then. Winston, McNeil, or Scott may fell to that pick.
Also I was just wondering, has anyone here seen Ngata play more than that one bowl game last month ?, when he was playing injured and was coming off a four week break ?

There is no way I can take anyone seriously who has the JETS picking in there spot...any idiot can see there is a 95% chance they trade down.

Defensive tackles dont have a long shelf life either, I really want Ferguson, but if we do stay at the 8th spot and dont trade I think we have to go Ngata. Theres nobody else out there worth takin at the 8th spot...

Thats what i said before, the guy is nasty, he dominated the bowl game. along with williams they were all over the place, these guys make plays unlike some of the other guys rated high in the draft
