SEATTLE -- Seattle Seahawks starting right tackle Sean Locklear was charged with one count of assault and released without bail after an initial court appearance Tuesday.

At the hearing at a King County Jail courtroom, Municipal Court Judge Edsonya Charles ordered Locklear to have no contact with his girlfriend, who lives with him. He also must abstain from alcohol and other drugs while the case is pending. A second court date was set for Feb. 13.
The charge, which is a gross misdemeanor, has a potential penalty of up to one year in jail and a $5,000 fine.
Ruth Bowman, spokeswoman for the Seattle City Attorney's office, said Prosecuting Attorney Derek Smith felt it was more important to get a no-contact order than to require Locklear to post bail.
If you remember last week I said don't go with the colts (http://www.billszone.com/fanzone/sho...colts) because of the wife stabbing, well here we go again. One might think these guys could keep it cool during the playoffs & not become a distraction.
