Donahoe doing this to give the rookies some competetion in mini camp and training camp, mine as well start early. I like Simonton from Oregon State he might make some kinda of a back up role if Morris and Bryson leave via free agency.

I'll start being satisfied when we sign a few "guarantee" impact players on D. Who cares if we sign 150 guys prior to next season if they all don't make the team or end up on the PS.

Simonton is an interesting prospect I would agree.
