    How does your defense look?

In an effort to pass the time, who does everyone project their defensive starters to be?

DE: Jevon Kearse - DT:Anthony McFarland - DT: John Henderson - DE: Patrick Kerney

OLB:Demorrio Williams - MLB: London Fletcher - OLB: Morlon Greenwood

CB: David Barrett - SS: Adrian Wilson - FS: Mike Doss - CB: Ken Lucas

All 3 of my LB's are new starters, Wilson was added at SS to plug a major hole in pass defense. I traded Robertson (DT) and was going to go with a backup but decided to obtain a starter capable DT.

LB was my biggest need as last season my starters barely had 200 tackles combined. This year all 3 LB's have 100+ as well as a few sacks and INT's. Adrian Wilson fills a spot held by Chris Crocker last season he too adds almost 100 tackles and 8 sacks.

While probably not the best Defense in the BZFL I think I managed to build a defense that can be a bit better against the run unlike last season. Hopefully with my revamped LB corps and the same pass rushing unit from last year I can create a few more turnovers.

Re: How does your defense look?

The Plays defense will be solid and probably middle of the pack this year. Our starters have not been determined so I will just list by position.

DE Bertrand Berry, Adewale Ogunleye, Robert Mathis, Justin Tuck

Young aggresive passrushers in Mathis and Tuck and experienced aggresive pass rusher in Ogunleye and Berry. Playas look to keep pressure on the QB with this group.

DT Ty Warren, Mike Patterson, Montae Reagor

Warren and Patterson are youn solid DT's, Patterson could be a star and gets good pressure on the QB along with Reagor who is solid but not spectacular

OLB Adalius Thomas, Cato June, Tommy Polley, Landon Johnson

Thomas is a great pass rusher and very versatile, June had over 100 tackles and 5 ints this year and Polley can play inside or out and Johnson ais a solid backup this group scored 5 defensive TD's this year in the NFL

    ILB Odell Thurmann, Tommy Polley

Thurmann had over 100 tackles and 5 ints this year and could be a superstar in the future, Polley is a solid backup and had close to 100 tackles also this year

CB Quentin Jammer, Carlos Rogers, Kelly Herndon, Aaron Glenn

Youth in Jammer and Rogers and experience in Herndon and Glenn, solid not spectacular should benefit from solid pass rush and have to work through injuries.

S Erik Coleman, Tony Parrish, Will Demps, Nick Collins

Solid group Coleman led all S in Tackles in the NFL, Parrish was injured and Collins had solid rookie year.

All in all the Playas look to create turnovers and sacks. We look to be a bend but dont break defense.

Not bad, your DL could use a little help but not bad at all man.

You have a great LB/Secondary group.

Re: How does your defense look?

The Bushwhacker's D looks to be much improved this upcoming season. The loss of Donovin Darius will hurt, but the rest of the D should be much improved.

At DE the Bush have Jared Allen and veteran Greg Ellis. Ellis is a consistent 8-10 sack guy, while Allen is a threat on any passing down to make a huge play. Aaron Kampman will be the rotating DE.

In the middle of the D-line are DT's Kelly Gregg and Dan Wilkinson. The late season addition of youngster Sam Rayburn should add depth.

At OLB are Lance Briggs and youngster Colby Bockwoldt. Bockwoldt assumed the starting job when Morlon Greenwood was dealt in the offseason.

At MLB is all-world linebacker Brian Urlacher.

At corner, Terrence Newman steps into the starting spot, with Tory James opposite. If one of them should falter, Mike McKenzie and Andre Dyson are there to assume a starting spot if either Newman or James fail to perform.

At SS is Troy Ponamalu. The loss of Darius moved Ponamalu back to his natural position, while the new starting FS for the Bush will be Lamont Thompson, who could be battled by newly acquired Terrence Holt in training camp.

All in all, the Bushwhackers should be much improved defensively in the upcoming season. Stopping the pass was a major issue last season, and they still may add another coverage corner to help things. Stay tuned, with almost $30 million in cap room, the Bush could be running wild this off-season.

While defense is the Quicksilvers' strength, there are some holes to fill. One hole filled was getting a decent nose tackle, Seth Payne, but more work is to be done.

                DE Jason Taylor, Cullen Jenkins
                NT S. Payne
                ILB Ray Lewis, Dat Nguyen
                OLB Donnie Edwards, I. Gold
                CB Sam Madison, Patrick Surtain
                S Darren Sharper, Corey Chavous

Dr Forbes needs a little LB help. Ray Lewis was injured most the year.

I dont think anyone has a bad defense.

Once again, the Super Deuces have a very solid LB core, and have gotten light years younger at the position with Merriman and Tatupu and we feel we have slightly upgraded a bit as well. Also, with very athletic DT's it should help the run defense this season.

                        DE KGB, ??, Travis LaBoy
DT Rod Coleman, Darwin Walker, Ryan Pickett,

My Defense is younger and has less big names than last year. Starters in Red

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
                          It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
