For us to catch the #8 playoff spot. Right now that spot is held by the Islanders who won tonight to move to 51 points. We have 39 points.

If NYI play .500 hockey the rest of the way they will finish with 83 points. For us to get to 84 points we have to go 22-10-1.

Can we do it?

I honestly don't see it happening. I haven't seen a lot of hockey this season but what I have seen hasn't impressed me.

last years overall record was 32-32-10-1 I think..

12 of the 32 wins came in March./April

I doubt we can play .667 + hockey either Phil but at least they are playing respectful now.

That's a start at least. Maybe they can get a run towards the end of the season and somehow carry it over into next season. They've been hard to watch the last couple of years so, to be honest, I haven't tried to watch as much. :(

This will be really tough. They're off to a good start, but can they sustain it??

No way, Jose. You've got 6 teams ahead of you & they'll be picking up points along the way, playing each other, etc.

Don't expect many more sympathy ****'s like you got last night down the stretch into the playoffs.

The goaltending is very hot for the Sabres right now. They will not be able to maintain this spectacular level the rest of the way unless Biron and Miller are the second coming of Jaques Plante and Hasek the rest of the way...As soon as there goaltenting comes back to earth the team will start to level off. .500 hockey the rest of the way would be a more realistic goal.

Islanders lose we gain 1 point with OT loss. Now only 11 points to make up.
