    Salary Cap Update 1/24

    Listen up K-Mart shoppers

When adjusted for top 51, I presently have the Bills $6,474,477 under an estimated salary cap of $93.5 milion with only $137,059 "dead cap"

Bills have 55 players under contract, thus 4 players do not count vs cap. All are minimum salary players.

    Remember a few things:

    1) Still possible for a few players to have salary escalators
    2) No more June 1st rule due to "uncapped" 2007
    3) New rules exixts for LTBE/NLTBE which could eat up cap space due to "uncapped" 2007
    4) Still need to tender RFAs & EFAs
    5) Salary cap is estimated not the final adjusted, so the Bills could be higher or lower when all the pennies are counted

This also does not factor in the fact that big mike may be gone or come back a lot cheaper, right clumpy?

Yes, until any player is restructured, their reported number is what I have them at......once the updated cap page is posted, you will all be able to see that

That number includes moulds nearly 11 mill. 7 mill won't cut it this offseason. We will essentially be fielding the same team after paying the #8 picks in rounds 1 and 2 coupled with Two 3rd rounders.

Mike Williams needs to go, Moulds does too. That also isn't taking into account possibly (please God no!) Re-signing Teague etc.

It is some room, but not really that much to get the FA help we desperately need.

i think one player everyone is missing out on who is a waste of $$ is lawyer milloy 4.5 mil cap hit for a safety who is avg at this point is laughable! IMO beside restucturing moulds and williams cutting milloy or telling him hes playing for 2 mil is what needs to be done!!!!!!

wouldn't cutting Big Mike and Moulds actually save us money and in turn up the cap? If we are at around 6 right now, and those guys are cut or restructured, shouldnt that give us some good room?

I know if we cut them it also comes with a cap hit of dead money, but we'd def. be better off to get some OL in here.

Careful. Suggesting to cut Sir Moulds is a magnet for neg reps around here.

You're right- it would be more dead cap but more overall cap too, which is what we need. Moulds probably won't restructure cuz he did that before last season- if that's the case there's no reason to bring him back. Josh Reed could easily put up Moulds' numbers from last year for a lot less money.

And I don't know why people are still talking about restructuring Mike Williams- he is mediocre and always injured. He's not worth vet minimum.

Mike williams isn't even worth spending the money that the bills spend on him to get his jersey made.

Send his fat butt back to the hometown buffet where he can gorge himself all he pleases.

Josh Reed? C'mon now, you don't have to exaggerate. Moulds may not be worth those $11 million or whatever, but he is still an order of magnitude better than Josh Reed. Moulds still commands double teams which generally frees up Evans to make some catches. Reed can't even handle nickel backs very well...and drops atleast 1-2 passes a game. If Moulds is cut, don't expect Reed to take his place! We will need to bring in a FA...
