wow his nfl employers were very happy with him as dl coach considering there were only two in fifteen years

I have no opinion. He was with Atlanta for 10 years, during a time when Atlanta's D was both bad and good.

so no one really knows much about him basically..

i guess he was let go in st. louis?

maybe he helps get martz here?

Well, he helped develop Leonard Little, Bryce Fisher, and Grant Wistrom. That's pretty good.

And he's liked by the players.

Plenty of coaching years plus 8 years of playing in the NFL sounds good to me. Here's hoping he can get the D-line back to where it was last season.

Martz is not going to be here next season. I really think he wants to take the year off.

seriously 10 years in atlanta and 5 years in st louis as dl coach

what else do you need to know?

im not saying hes gods gift to dline coaches but hell he had to be rock solid to have that kind of consistency

No offence OP but where have you been??? this was reported yesterday and everyone put in their 2 cents on the idea....

I wonder if this will result in the Bills signing one of the Rams free agent defensive tackles - specifically Ryan Pickett. I read somewhere that Pickett was initially a disappointment but cam on this season.

That makes me nervous because people said the same thing about Mike Williams in 04 and we saw how that turned out....

I can see where you are coming from, but I also think it is impossible to use that as a basis for concern on a specific player. I know virtually nothing about Pickett so I can't offer any specific basis for comparison with Williams.

I generally prefer the idea of getting up and coming players who have some experience and upside as opposed to older players who may be on the down side. That said, a nice mix usually works best - but the older guys should be more value oriented pick-ups like the Pats did with Roman Phifer and the like.
