Doesn't sound good for JP in Jauron era

An arcticle in the Buffalo news said something like, winning is now, developing Losman is a secondary concern, we're in 'win now' mode.

As long as fans are demanding "win now" the Bills will use whatever gameplan gives them the best chance of winning; the bag heads will not allow them to do otherwise.

'Win Now' and Kelly Holcomb, just doesn't sound very logical to me.

We could just start over really "fresh" with a new QB and draft Jay Cutler QB from Vanderbilt who I really like a lot.

That just tells me they're going to go with a QB competition and play the better guy...which is JP, IMO

Nor with JP. I think Bills are going to go defense first, OL second and deal with whatever scraps of QB they have.

Everything I read about this kid is glowing and he is shooting up draft boards. There is talk he will end up a top 10 pick, and even some discussion he will go before Leinert.

Unfortunately I think we'll need two years just to build the offensive line.

The article I read said something like there will be competition at every position. There is no guarantee that Losman will or will not start.

Geez...JP will have to earn his position on the team, just like everybody else?

                    What a novel idea.

is this it it sounds like it

"Every position we have will be an open competition," Jauron said. "Now, on the first day, there will be starters penciled in off what they've done. But after that . . ."

That doesn't sound promising for Losman. If we're going by last year's performance, Kelly Holcomb's name will be the one penciled in. He was the most efficient quarterback at the end of the season and it figures to be his job to lose.

Jauron doesn't figure to be building for the future. He said the team's "back is to the wall to win." Levy and Wilson have said the future is now. That means we're still in "win now" mode, which means developing Losman is a secondary concern.

agreed. I think a big reason why some vets had a problem with JP is bc he was just handed a job, which doesnt happen too often in the NFL. A lot of guys on the team who have worked their ass off to get where they are (especially considering we have like 17 undrafted FA's on our team) resented that and didnt respect him for it. I think hes sayin this soley for the purpose of competition to motivate JP and earn the Vets respect.

Time for the obligitory reality insert. there is no such thing as QB competition. I have covered this in great depth.

The 'Competition' is pure Crap. They will give the meat of the reps with the first string to Holcomb allowing him to 'win' the job. It is all one sided.

You gonna base an entire year's performance on one game??

Must be Denver and Carolina will be looking for new QB's this off-season also, based on Plummer's and Delhomme's performances last Sunday.
