Fairchild picked Buffalo over New York?

Wow! I’ve read so many posts from fans who suffer from small town self-esteem issues that I was shocked to hear that this guy passed up a gig in New York City for a gig in Buffalo!

I’ll have to remember this one the next time I hear someone say, “Why would he want to come to Buffalo when he could go to Atlanta?”

If it were the Giants and not the Jets, we probably wouldn't have been so lucky. It's not so much the size of the market as the quality of the franchise. And while the Bills are a mess right now, the Saints, Jets and Lions are even worse.

I guess you have never been to a Heavy Metal show in Buffalo. I have and believe me they come out of the woodwork for some hard core Heavy Metal!

You haven't been down to see your relatives in East Eden lately.

Drop into Winterhaven sometime (if it's still there)

Atlanta is hardly overpopulated. Probably has the biggest area for its population that any other big city. 3 miles from the center of downtown and all you see is pines.

As far as rednecks and thugs, they are certainly there, but there are very nice areas of town to live in and still avoid them.

Did I mention the cost of living? The taxes? Or that I play golf 3 times a week in January?

Buffalo is a great city, but paying for New York City amenities while living 500 miles away really doesn't intrigue me.

A week ago today I was offered a tremendous promotion with my company. I start next Monday! I will be working in Buffalo.

I’m not going to get into how much I make, but according to one salary calculator I found on the Internet, my salary in Buffalo is the equivalent to a 85K salary in DC. Not bad for 29!

My company based in Buffalo also owns the naming rights for an NFL stadium.

The problem is that it would be about the equivilant of 45K in Atlanta then or less. That is the problem living in any state with a big city (except Texas, Georgia, FL). Smaller towns like B-LO take it in the pants for all the programs and public services in citys like NY, LA, and Chi-Town.
