Kugler Turns Down Job: A report from an Idaho newspaper says that former Lions tight end and offensive line coach Sean Kugler has turned down a chance to rejoin Dick Juaron in Buffalo. The report says he was offered the tight ends coaching position that is still currently being held by Mike Miller. He turned down the job to rejoin the staff at Boise State University.

Re: Kugler turns down TE coach job...
This is exactly what I didn't want to see...Jauron trying to bring in people b'cse he knows them. When have the Lions been known for having a great TE attack ? Marcus Pollard is over there now - but we know him b'cse he was good in Indy...who was there before him in Detroit? Kugler doesn't sound like anyone we would want...
Note to Jauron: Don't bring in people just b'cse you are friends with them!!!
You know who I think is a good TE coach? Pete Mangurian - from the Patriots...
I'm not saying he's likely available, but just pointing out that we need someone that might be like him!

Has he had a good TE in his systems since joining the pro ranks coaching?I'm your huckleberry.

Doc Holliday: Nonsense. I have not yet begun to defile myself.

Re: Kugler turns down TE coach job...
I was listening to Hub Arkush of PFW on WGR last night. He said Fairchilds Offense would want a TE with speed who could find open areas. Everett is a complete mystery and the other 3 on our roster stink.
If we could find a couple vet OL in March, I could see the Bills adding a good TE on Day 1 of the draft.Anonymity is an abused privilege, abused most by people who mistake vitriol for wisdom and cynicism for wit

What about Pete Metzelaars?
I'm sure I'm not the only one who still miss him.

I agree Metzellars would be a solid choice for TE coach IMO. He made up for his physical short commings with heady play.

Re: Kugler turns down TE coach job...
It's pretty bad when a guy like Kugler who is from Lockport,N.Y. doesn't want to come to Buffalo. What does that tell you about your Head Coachs ability to put a staff together. He took a college job instead.
