The reason? Money.

I thought Ralph said money wasn't an issue? humm.....

And did anyone actually find out what Ralph is paying Dick Jauron? I'd sure like to know. It is hard to pay a DC over a mill when you don't pay your HC much more than that.

It is going to piss me off greatly if we find out ralph hired on the cheap again!

Come on Ralph, cough up the money! You'll only have to pay him for a year or two and then he'll leave for a HC job.

Bates is a great hire. If ****ing Ralph doesn't bring him in because of cash he should be shot!! EVERYTIME YOU THINK THIS TEAM MIGHT DO SOMETHING SMART THIS **** HAPPENS!

Before we get hostile, this is just Clayton speculating again. There is nothing in his message that leads me to believe that he's recieving inside information. he's just using the Rams offer as a guide, and making an educated guess. This is Clayton to a "T". He's the joke of sports journalism.

so if Bates turns down the offer, no one will hate him or think he's less of a dc will they?

The guy will still be getting paid by the Pack for 2 more years. He has some time to think about what he wants to do. He has to be the top of the list.

I wont because im sure Ralph and Co. lowballed him.

If he sits out the season I might. But that just goes back to the whole "the game is about more then money" philosophy I have.
