    Re: My dream off-season

I like the idea of tagging and trading Clements, but I'm not sure we'll take that chance....I think Marv will look at what happened to the Raiders last year with Charles Woodson and not want to handicap himself in his first offseason if it backfires.

I'd try to get something done with both Moulds and Williams....I don't think either
of them are in any position to ask for big money at this point, and I think they will find themselves better off staying in Buffalo. Williams is like last year's Shelton---he's got a 50/50 shot of being a bust.

Definately release Milloy. Doesn't bring enough to the table for as much as he costs. Can Baker play SS? I guess Lenhart can step in.

I agree we need Free agent Olineman. But I would start with Tom Nalen, and move Teague to right tackle. We definately need a guard also, and I do like Hutchinson.

Rocky Bernard would work well....but I hope we move to a 3-4 so we don't need to carry so many DT's. I think we are better set up for a 3-4 scheme, and thus a free agent LB might be worth considering. How about LaVar? He was a beast before Gregg Williams got to Washington....and brought his 46 scheme.....I think in a 3-4 Arrington would be crazy again.

I can't think about the draft at this point.

      Who replaces Nate??

      How about this instead:

      Tag-re-sign Nate
      Cut Moulds
      Cut Fat Mike
      Cut Sam Adams
      Sign LeCharles Bentley
      Sign Maake Kemoeatu
      Sign Ted Washington
Sign David Givens or Peerless if Givens costs to much $$$

      Draft:
1st- Trade down/middle 1st rnd- Select Justice RT from USC
2nd rnd A.- Select Gilles LG
2nd rnd B(acquired in trade down)- Select Oshiwono DT from Stanford
3rd rnd A. Select Derek Hagan WR from ASU
3rd rnd B. Select Greg Blue

        Here's what I would like:

Tag and trade Nate late 1st round (NYG)
        2) Release Mike Williams (Save $4.5 million cap)
        3) Restructure Eric Moulds (Save $4-5 million cap)
        4) Release/Restructure Lawyer Milloy (Save $1-2 million cap)
        5) Get OG Hutchinson from Seattle ($2-3 million cost)
        6) Get DT Jackson from GB ($4 million or so cost) or if possible, get Ted Washington
        7) Resign Sam Adams for 1 yr tender
        8) Resign/Tender Shelton
        9) Get long term deal for J. Peters
        10) Move Gandy to RG where he played throughout college
        11) Dump Josh Reed
        12) Sign WR Joe Jureviciuos ($4-5 million ? or other decent WR)
        13) Sign SS Adam Archuleta ($2-3 million)

        14) Draft

1-8 DE Mario Williams (not many DEs worth much this year)
1-25 (From NYG) OT Eric Winston
        2-40 OG Davin Joseph
        3-67 DT Rodrigue Wright
        3-72 FS Pat Watkins
        4-104 WR Maurice Stovall
        5-136 CB Darrell Hunter
6-168 QB Reggie McNeal (raw prospect - blazing speed - could become WR?)
        7-198 ILB Anthony Schlegel

I chose Mario over Brick b'cse the more I think about it, the more I think Mario would have a bigger impact than Brick would on our team. Not to take anything away from Brick, but there are alot of LTs in this draft that are very decent. In terms of defensive ends, after Mario, the dropoff is pretty big!!! Considering that between Kelsay and Denney combined, they equaled half the sacks of Schobel, I really think we need to give Schobel a little help from the other side to make this a scary team. That being said, I don't ignore the middle. I'd love to be able to get Ted Washington alongside Sam Adams. Despite their age, nobody would be getting through them. A upcoming prospect like Wright could help spell them (along with the decent backups that we have in Edwards and Anderson).

The difference is tag amount is much less this year due to way Winfield''s contract was structured. Bills can afford tag amount for a year and GW/Gray may convince Snyder that is is worth trading for Clements even though it will make their salary cap position worse.

We will need more defensive acquisitions.
