    BTW...WGR55 reports we offered Bates....

    MORE Than what he was making in GB And he still turned it down. He didn't want the gig. He wants to sit out, make free money and try for a HC gig next year. We didn't need that crap in Buffalo.

    More like he didnt want to work for Buffalo but I mean shout can you blame him. I would laugh if he took a DC job somewhere else.

      They only offered him $850,000...that's pathetic, considering other teams offered him $1 million or more. If they offer a million, I bet he would have come here.

        He wouldn't want to be here long term anyhow. So then we have to start from scratch again maybe next year ?

        Bates reportedly was stunned that he lost out on the Green Bay HC job to McCarthy. He is trying like heck to get one more shot at being a HC, after Miami and Green Bay passed on him.

        Coaching is about chemistry, something last years staff was seriously lacking. The shouting match between Gray and the DB coach up in the booth during a game spoke volumes. Plus TD was sitting right there when it happened ( although he had no business being in the booth during games ).

        Jauron wants someone he knows he can work with. Let Bates use some other team as a cab ride to his dream.

              Exactly NT! I have said for the last week or so, Bates wasn't a good fit. I want a guy that may be here 3 years. We need stability on the staff and on the roster for us to turn this thing around.

                    His Defenses in Miami ranked 5th over his five years. In one year he took the Packers defense from being ranked #25 in 2004 to being ranked #7 in 2005.

                          Sorry...Bates was offered $1M to be the Rams DC, and he turned them down. SO there goes your theory. The guy is on paid vacation!

                            Honestly, I like the way this staff was assembled. It just seems as though coaches were picked to fit in a puzzle rather than just selecting the flashy choices. As opposed to the Redskins who hired every namer out there. It will be interesting to see who ends up more successful.

                              Jarouncouldn' put a staff together in Chicago and the same thing is happing here.You guys are all ga ga over guys that nobody else is interviewing.I don't get it.When a guy is in the league for 20 plus years and hasn't a co-ordinator thers usally a reason as is with Fewell.On the offensive side Fairchild was a OC in name only Martz had total control of that offense until his health problems.We one of the brightest offensive minds in the last 25 years or so and he's not coming back.Sam Wyhce
