That changed Wednesday after Seattle tight end Jerramy Stevens (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/101342) effectively guaranteed a victory.

Porter said Stevens' remarks were all he needed to get him going for the Super Bowl.

Why do players do this? Now i know seattle is going to loose. This is just basically saying to pissburg hey come beat our ass please. I just don't get it.

Personally, I love the trash talking. Get personal. If that player beat his wife then make fun of it. Who the **** cares if the world thinks your a dick? You still play in the NFL and you still making money.

No porter is just stupid...that the comment woke him up, he wants them to tap out...if you werent ready if you werent awake before the comment you got some problems. your in the F'in Super bowl i hate porter like everyones always out to get him and his team and bad mouthing. i didnt think stevens comment was that bad and it was a little shot at steelers nothing big but porter has to have everyone know he is there. i hope hutch pops him in the face.

If I'm Mike Holmgren, I'm doing one of two plays on the first drive.

1) I call a play action to Joey's side. He'll be so 'pumped' up, he'll bite hard. I make sure his responsibility in the passing game was supposed to Stevens. Stevens wide open.

2) I call a draw to Joey's side. Line Stevens up on the same side and run his route into the flats, giving Joey a free shot at him. Alexander with no Joey and Walter Jones on the left side and the defense spread out now has a ton of room to run.

Sounds like Stevens is gonna try a Namath move but IMO it wont turn out that way. Not very smart to give the opposing team bullentin board material before a game as big as the SB.

What did Porter say that was wrong? Stevens is a bust as a first round pick and has had the reputation as being a softy and dropping balls over the middle. Its one thing if a well established star like Chad Johnson comes out guaranteeing victory but this is a guy who will be lucky to have 3 catches in the game.

Trash talk just makes the game interesting. I'm sure a lot of people will be anticipating the first collision of the two and who ends up on their back side. I'll put money on Stevens being the one eating dirt.
