    Bucs' slow boat finally arrives

It's a new day in Tampa Bay, or so one such marketing slogan went at one point during the Buccaneers' mostly inauspicious history. For long-suffering fans of the team, that day finally arrived when their beloved Bucs upset the Eagles at Veterans Stadium to advance to Super Bowl XXXVII.

But the players have every intention of providing a bigger reason to celebrate, especially following the scene they witnessed arriving from Philadelphia. On a chilly night in Tampa, a sea of approximately 25,000 rabid fans lined the entrance to Raymond James Stadium and beyond to welcome the victors.

"When we came back from Philly, geez, all those people waiting for us," fullback Mike Alstott said. "They've been waiting for this for a long time and it's very special for them. We've had a lot of fans stick with us through the tough times and now they get to enjoy it a little. We want to give them a reason to come out again."
