I guess the Raiders WANT to lose this game....

Raiders All-Pro center Barret Robbins was sent home today and will not play in Super Bowl XXXVII after he was late for the final team meeting Saturday night.
Robbins will be replaced in the lineup by Adam Treu.

Robbins, a 6-foot-3, 320-pound player in his eighth season, was expected to help contain Tampa Bay's formidable defensive front, led by All-Pro tackle Warren Sapp. Robbins anchors a line that gave league MVP Rich Gannon enough time to throw for 4,689 yards and direct the NFL's most potent offense.

Robbins was selected to his first Pro Bowl this season, joining tackle Lincoln Kennedy on the team.

He was a Pro Bowler and starting center and they are benching him for the BIGGEST game of the season? Are they :angry:ing insane!?!?!? I know you want to punish the player....but why punish the whole team? This could really hurt the Raiders today! MORONS!

The Raiders know they aren't going to win and they sent him home just so they have an excuse. It's a consipiracy I'm telling you. We're going to see a muffed snap on a punt or FG and Gannon will have trouble all day getting the snaps. This poor second stringer is a scape goat.

considering he's been injured and was listed as questionable ANYWAY...... I don't think it'll be that much of a factor.

Too many people worry about what other people think of them.

They wouldn't worry about it too much, if they realized how little, others actually think about them.

The only reason that this doesn't concern me is because Robbins was out most of last season injured, so Treu started almost every game. This a big game. And the coaches aren't messing around when they say players need to be serious. He was late to the meeting, missed practice and his wife wasn't even sure where he was.

Now they're reporting that they took him to a hospital. But they didn't say why.

Gannon's gonna have to live on the three step drop today. He's gonna be runnin' for his life regardless of who's playin' C.

Robbins was listed as questionable anyway. Treu probably would have started anyway. According to ESPN he missed more than the last team meeting, he missed all of the Saturday team stuff.
