    Trade.....

Ive seen a couple different people talk about trades the bills may make...How about this one...

I like Mcgahee and all but next year hes a FA and hes gonna want good money and probably more than hes worth. Freeney is a FA this year and will more than likely get Tagged by Indy, and Indy may not have the money to lock him up with a long term contract. So the bills trade Mcgahee to Indy, who needs RB with James saying hes gone, and the bills get Freeney and a mid to late round Draft pick. That solves our DE problem, and makes for a great DE tandem of Shobel and Freeney. Then with the 8th pick the bills draft either LenDale White or D'angelo Williams, or even wait till the 2nd round to get a RB to start for us.

    Thoughts....

Running backs are easier to replace than the Dwight Freeneys ofd the world. If James is gone, they will have plenty to re-sign Freeney.

Plus, even if Indy is interested in trading away Freeney, it'd AT MOST be a straight up, or we might have to throw in a mid pick.

We would absolutely have to throw in a pick for Freeney. This is just a fantasy trade. Trades like this rarely happen in the NFL.

Not gonna happen would be sweet if it did but it won't. indy wouldn't want to trade freeney to a conference team. Also WM is not worth what freeney would be worth.

Good points though but won't happen

I agree with what you are saying. Peyton Manning, the idiot he is, put this team in very bad shape for years to come with that inflated contract he took, in which is not cap friendly at all. So now they have issues with FA. What better way to replace a top 5 RB in the league than trading your #1 DE who is most likely going to hit the market in a year or 2. they do not have the money to lock up a freeney contract extension. They also have to worry about Reggie Wayne and the other DE Brock. A RB is more valuable to a team than a DE. So why not go for the trade. Lock up one of the primary needs prior to the draft and find a stud RB with the #8 pick.

You have to think, if the Colts become one dimensional, the same way the Patsies did this year, come playoff time, they will be in bad shape. Teams figured out the Colts and I believe they will be on the downside. The right decision would be to tag freeney than trade him for value to replace the RB, who in my opinion has been very consistant over his career, at least 1400 yards in 4 or 5 seasons out of his 7 or 8? I think Buffalo should aggressively look into this. Remember, keeping pace with Miami and NE is key to make a run in the future, this is the first step in doing so.

There's no excuse for any diehard Bills fan to like McGahee. The dude 1/2 asses 90% of the time..cant' run routes, lost his stiff-arm, can't do a interview without embarrasing us & himself, cant cut let alone juke... If the freakin fans wouldn't give him the free pass then maybe we could get a real RB in here already....

McGahee's over-rated....maybe we could package him with Clements (after he's tagged) and get a player in here.

I'd send those two to Indy for Freeney.

                    Re: Trade.....

There is NO WAY in the world Indy is trading Dwight.... They are committed to a better defense, which is why they will part with Edge to have the money to make sure they keep Freeney.

Good RB's are alot easier to find than DE's.. And Willis hasn't even come close to proving he's an elite RB to this point. Indy would probably want our first rounder to even consider that trade.. Losing Freeney would destroy their front four.
