Buffalo Bills linebackers coach Johnny Holland has left the team to become linebackers coach for the Houston Texans.

Holland was hired by Buffalo only this past week by new Bills head coach Dick Jauron. He had spent the last three seasons in Detroit and was the Lions' linebackers coach in 2005.

"It's an opportunity for me to go back home and be close to my family," Holland told The Buffalo (N.Y.) News.

Holland, 40, is from Houston, and his parents, brothers and sisters still live there.

I wonder if there's some sort of tampering involved. We already hired the guy, can the Texans still talk to him??

Honestly, big deal. Of course you don't want stuff like this happening all the time, but he's a position coach who has an opportunity to go back home and do the same job. If I were a coach, and was offered the same position in Buffalo, I'd take it. Heck, if I could do what I do now in Buffalo, and keep my same standard of living, I would move back in a heartbeat.

I would presume Marv let him leave because you can't make a lateral move while under contract.
