A few days before the 1993 AFC Championship Game, Thurman Thomas flew into one of his patented snits. Thomas had become convinced that some of us in the media were campaigning for Kenny Davis to start in his place. He complained about a lack of respect. He threatened retirement. He said he wanted to hit someone - maybe a reporter. Then he went out and rushed for 186 yards and three touchdowns, carrying the Bills past the Chiefs and into an unprecedented fourth straight Super Bowl. He definitely deserved this time instead of later. He was certainly key the Bills making those 4 SB appearences and to be overlooked like that is completely ridiculous.

I am going to get negged but ....No he didn't. He was a damn good all around back. But he also had issues just like the one listed in this thread with the press quite a bit before it was common to do so. Then we have the helmet incident in SB 26. The turnovers in SB 27 and he flat quit after his fumble after halftime in SB 28.

He went to the dolphins after leaving the Bills and did nothing at all. I'm sorry guys HOF Voters see these things and remember ALL of them.

Marv was handed a great team but managed some of the greatest egos in NFL history in route to 4 apperances.

Jim Kelly was THE on the field reason we went to 4 superbowls. Thurman gets great props from Jimbo but the reality is, JK is the man that turned this franchise around on the field. He called his own plays, and was the toughest SOB to date to play QB. That is why he is in the HOF.

Thurman might get there, but it is going to be another vote or two.

And then promptly quit in Atlanta after his 2nd half fumble. Marv Levy has talked about it and it may be in his book.

On the lighter side, in make believe world, would he had been public enemy #1 if he got a SB w/ Miami?
