Does anybody else like gambling too much, and seems to come out unlucky? Are some people/families just destined to not come out on the winning end of major bets?

There are now 5 things I hate worse then the AFCE, Giants, Redskins, and Cowboys.

I hate the Raiders, Rich Gannon, #26 of the Bucs, football pools, and gambling. The combination of these have lost me at least 2 car payments on my new car over the past month, and way more over the years.

Gambling runs with my family and friends, and since I hate losing money that I worked for weeks to earn, I don't really gamble very much. Especially when luck always seems to run against you. Gambling is a disease that runs in both sides of my family. Both my parents, grandma, uncles, cousins, and aunts blow thousands a year gambling in casinos where their odds of winning are next to nill.

Along with my parents and grandma, 70% of the other family members think they're gonna win the lottery and dish out $100's of dollars a month in the lottery. Between both sides of my family they hardly ever come back winners. Between both sides, my family has probably lost over 100 grand in the years in gambling, but still thinks when they win a few hundred it's worth it. They're not smart gamblers, and bet on things where the odds of winning are slim to none. They say it's they're entertainment dollar that's involved in it too. I don't find losing money on odds you can't change as entertainment.

Now you have me. If I was ever rich I'd become the Pete Rose of professional gambling. It runs in my blood and the only thing that stops me from becoming hooked are my worries of losing my paychecks in gambling. I only bet on things where my decision has an outcome in the bet. That's why I play cards, bet on games, ect. If I lose it's my fault, not the luck of the odds.

The only time I gamble is once awhile during the football season. Mostly the playoffs and Super Bowl. This fake money here gives me the chance to have the rush of a bet and not have to worry if I lose. Although I still get mad when I lose Zonebucks. It's just the competitiveness that any person should have.

I don't waste money on gambling unless it's sports bets or some blackjack. I suck at poker and it seems like everyone in our family is unlucky at gambling. They win their good chunks of money at times, but I look at gambling as a yearly thing. You can't lose a grand gambling and when you win 300 think that you made out. I would never dump 3 or 4 digits in slot machines hoping to hit. You have a better chance of getting hit by a truck when you cross the parking lot back to your car.

I know I'm rambling on like Wys, but I need to vent after these last few weeks. (And I drank too much whiskey that isn't helping it. I need it after tonite though. )I try to only place bets on football and mostly the playoffs or Super Bowl. Fat Tony already knows I can't predict hoop games. I don't follow it enough to predict them odd outcomes I guess. I'll keep on trying till I'm broke though :D

Gambling is too much fun, I follow right in line as the next Micheal Jordan or Pete Rose if I ever started.

These playoffs really hurt though, and is the reason why I don't gamble very much. I'm just not lucky enough to win. Let me explain everything and you can vote for a good thread from feeling sorry or reject the thread for rambling. It must run in the family.

I've won money on 4 out of the last 5(4 in a row) Super Bowl winners but it could've been so much more. This cheap square pool of NBF's is the first pool I've won in 3 years. I'm amazed I won one.

It's bad enough I came so close in almost every pool on Billsfanzone. I've probably lost about 5 quarters of winnings in 3 minutes of football. Somebody keeps scoring at the end of quarters or games to bite me in the ass. It's happened for 3 years of pools now.

I was in 2 other pools for tonite for some good easy cash, and the last play of the game cost me $900. That would pay for my season ticket for 2.5 years alone.

There's a reason why I hate these many people or teams though. The Raiders cost me $30 dollars from a friendly bet from work at the start of the year. They cost me the price of the Raiders/Bills ticket this year($45) cause I made a bet with my cousin who is Black and Silver to no end. With my bet from work, we bet they wouldn't go to the Super Bowl. I lost so we doubled up the bet to $60 and I took the Bucs with the +4. That worked out great, but that's chump change. My prediction for games are usually around 60%+ in football pools, and now I"ve predicted the Bucs, Patriots, Rams, and Ravens as the last 4 Super Bowl champions I'm ok in predictions, it's in the gambling luck department where god didn't bless me.

At our Super Bowl party tonite we came up with all kinds of bets. Around $100 dollars a piece between all the bets. More then a grand laying on the table in 4 different bets during the game looked pretty tempting. All neatly stacked in 4 piles for the winners. After the 2nd half when we got a 10th person to show up, we all pitched in 30 bucks a piece in a final score football pool. Winner takes all. Somehow I came up with the numbers 1-1 in that pool and another one from my weekend partying spot. That one had a 4th quarter payout of $600 dollars. $10 a square. I bought 2 squares...perfect payout.

Things wern't looking good in the 4th quarter but then Derrick Brooks runs an interception back for a TD to make it 1-1. In the one pool it didn't even matter if the Raiders scored another TD and made or missed the 2pt. conversion. I had all them combinations for a $300 profit. The Raiders even missed 3 2pt conversion attempts to help me. With less than 2 minutes to go, I actually thought my luck with football square pools might be changing. I had 1-1 in 2 pools, and it wouldn't even matter if the Raiders got a mop up TD in another. I was guranteed money. But noooooo, it was too good to be true.

This is how these 5 I will forever hate. The Raiders cost me money during the season on bets, and now Rich Gannon and #26 of the Bucs are included in it to round out the top 5 of my most hated things in sports and gambling. I was so mad I have no idea of his name. I need to check it up so I can put a curse on him.

Twenty seconds to go I thought there was no way I could lose. While I was counting my $600 profit from the bigger pool, I was getting ready to grab my 300 bones laying on the table from our side pool. As I get up to grab my winnings that god damn #26 of the Bucs picks off Gannon. That is just not right. :angry:ing Gannon and the Raiders, I hate them.

I'm sorry if I've bored everyone to death or sound like a disgruntled gambler. I just have to vent. I can't be the only one on here with no luck in gambling.

Are there any other stories that people have on heart breaking bets gone bad? We have some gamblers in here, who else could have this kind of luck?

I feel for every person in America who had 1-1 on their football pools, and was seeing the $$$$$ signs in their mind for a potential payout. I know $900 is nothing compared to what others lost, but that would've been some good spending money.

Some other person at the party was in a nice High Rollers Pool. $50 bucks a square, and $3,500 for the final quarter. I bet the person in that square has gotta hate this even more then me.

There are now 5 things I've won that had some luck involved. A frigging candy jar in grade school, a pumpkin in 6th grade, some contest here at The Zone, a bottle of Wys Sauce, and $875 dollars from NBF's pool. Wrong combination of winnings there.

I need another drink......
