Buffalo Bills DE, Chidi Ahanotu, was a commentator during ESPN Radio's, Super Bowl coverage. On Mondays wrap up show, they asked Ahanotu what the future had in store for him, and he replied "I really like Buffalo, and would appreciate the chance to continue here. They have a good thing going, and we are not too far off on terms."

There is no link to the story, it was just something I heard on ESPN radio Monday afternoon. Chidi sounded genuine in his sincerity, to remain a Buffalo Bill.

As long as he isn't penciled in as the starter. He'd be a solid backup, but he proved part of the weakness this season as the starter. He'll also be 33 this season so a one year contract would be good.

He had 5 sacks, but 4 of those were in the first 6 games logging only 1 in the last 10 games.

I think Chidi was a good pick up this last year and has got many more seasons left in the tank. As long as he isn't in on every down, make him the run stopper (this he does well) and get one of the other scrubs to rush the passer when it is called for. IMO he was tired down the stretch and just couldn't get off the ball. Hence the reason for the late season drop off in production on the field.

I agree. NO long term deal....stick to the one-year vet minimum deals.

Not only did he say he liked Buffalo, but he really likes living in Toronto. So he likes the best of both worlds.

But how good do you really think he did this season?

I liked Chidi. He provided some veteran leadership on the field, and had one of the best years in his career since 99.

He was very instrumental in ray Lucas' collapse in both Miami games.

He would be worth the league vet min, but I don't think he will take that.

How about if we keep him as a reserve for running situation. They won't have to ink him for a lot of money for a long time if they do that.

If Jones cant rehab from his Knee, we will need Chidi back.

Even with Jones in there, Jones has to be looked at as fragile. Keep Chidi - up to about 1 Million or so per year. (a 25% raise above vet minimum)

I'd like to see him year again. He isn't great but is good for depth and and experience. A guy like that who WANTS to be in Buffalo is a lot better than getting someone to replace for a few G's less who is just looking for work.

Believe me when I say, I'd like to be in Buffalo!!!!

I think that Chidi is a quality player, and a quality person. He was instamental in our D's "turnaround" tward the end of the year. And he Provides Great Vet leadership at the DE position.
