The Buffalo Destroyers cut 12 players on Sunday to get down to the 24-man roster limit for the start of the 2003 Arena Football League season which kicks off this Saturday, February 1st at the HSBC Arena.
To get down to the AFL roster limit, Buffalo waived OL/DL Imani Bell, WR/DB Malik Campbell, WR/DB Jason Collins-Baker, OL/DL Gonzalo Floyd, DS Ken Haslip, OL/DL Jason Jewell, WR/DB Van Johnson, OL/DL Brad Keeney, QB Chris Sanders, OL/DL Dave Sucura, FB/LB Corey Terry and OL/DL Clyde Wilkins. Buffalo also placed FB/LB Eddie Diaz on injured reserve.
“This is one of the toughest decisions I’ve had to make as a coach,” said Destroyers head coach Ron Selesky. “We wanted a competitive training camp and we definitely got that. We had to let go some guys who could end up playing for someone else but we are very happy with what we got.
